Live Blackjack
Live Blackjack at William Hill Casino
The William Hill Live Blackjack is broadcast from a studio in Latvia and uses a real Backjack table, live dealer and an eight deck set of cards. You can play live against other players from around the world in what is possibly the most realistic online blackjack game anywhere on the internet.
When you download the software and enter the live casino there will probably already be a game in progress so you just have to wait until that round has finished before you can start playing. To play, simply click on one of your chips and then click on the area of the Blackjack table that you wish to bet on and the chip will be placed there. You can also place side bets, just remember to click on the areas of the board to place your bets – you only have to click on the chip value once. When you have finished placing your online bets, press the “confirm” button to lock in your wagers. If you decide not to play a round then don’t place any chips on the gaming area and the game will start without you and you can watch the outcome.
When the timer is up, then the game begins. Wait for your turn and then choose whether to Hit, Stand, Double, Split or Insure your Bet by using the appropriate buttons. You will have a certain time to do this to ensure that the gameplay flows.
Side Bets
You can place various Side Bets during each game. Side bets are additional bets that you can place to increase your winnings by predicting the outcome of the dealer or your cards. You don’t have to place side bets during a game. The side bets that you can place are as follows;
Perfect Pair
You can bet on whether your first two cards or the dealers first two cards form a “Perfect Pair”, “Coloured Pair” or “Red/Black Pair”. A Perfect Pair is when the two cards are identical (ie, 2x 8 of Hearts – remember you are playing with 8 packs of cards in the deck). A Coloured Pair is when the two cards are a pair of the same colour, but not the same suit – ie A four of hearts and a 4 of Diamonds, and a Red/Black pair is, as you have probably worked out, 2 cards with the same value but differing suits – so a seven of spades and a 7 of diamonds.
How to play Live Online Blackjack
The object of Blackjack is for your dealt hands to be closer in value to the number 21 than the Dealers hand. If it is, then you win. If it isn’t, or you bust (when the value of your cards is more than 21) then the Dealer wins. Each card has a value – the number cards are worth the number that is on them, the picture cards are worth 10 points and the Ace is worth either 1 or 11, depending on the current total you have.
You start by being dealt two cards face up. From here you can decide whether to stick or two draw another card to try and get close to that magical 21. Keep doing this until you decide that you are close enough to 21 to have a chance of beating the dealer. There are also a few other options that you can make.
Split
If you are dealt a pair in your first two cards, you can opt to split the hand. This means that you will be playing with two hands and two more cards will be dealt (one on each hand). You then continue playing in the same way with two hands instead of one. Remember that if you opt to split then your bet will double.
Double
If, after your first two cards are dealt you think that your third card would definitely win, then you can opt to Double. This simply doubles the bet and you are dealt one more card.
Insurance
If the dealer draws an Ace as their first card, you have the choice as to whether to Insure the hand against a Picture card being dealt next and giving the dealer Blackjack (and an automatic win for the dealer and loss for you). The insurance bet is half your stake. If Blackjack is drawn you receive 2 x your insurance bet plus your insurance back (so if you were playing at £20 per hand, your insurance bet would be £10 – your insurance bet would pay you 2x your insurance bet, plus your insurance back – £30).
Online Blackjack is a great game to play, at this William Hill Live Blackjack is a brilliant way to enhance the fun that you would have at a normal online blackjack game – why not give it a try!
