Betting In Play
Betting In Play
In play online bet is a relatively new concept in the sports betting world and William Hill are at the vanguard of the technology needed to facilitate this.
Betting in play means exactly as it says – unlike placing an ante post bet and then waiting for the outcome, you can now place a bet (or series of bets) during the game. Obviously there are some sports that you cant place bets on whilst they are running (such as greyhound racing) as they are over too quickly!
If you are going to place In Play bets they are done exactly the same way that you would do if you were going to place a normal ante post bet – select the game that you want to place a bet on, and click on it to put it into your betslip. Then type in the amount that you want to wager, and press the “Place Bet” button to confirm the bet.
The In Play betting page looks a little different to the normal betting page. On the left hand side of the screen, highlighted in yellow is how far into the match you are. You will also notice that the odds that you can select will differ as the game goes on and as events unfurl – as you are betting In Play online and the match has already started then the previous events will have influenced the bookmakers decision as to where the price will sit. Occasionally , green or red arrows will flash on a selected odd to show you whether that market is moving in or out.
In play betting is great fun to do, and as long as you are aware of the movement in the odds, it is possible to get some good returns, or even to reduce your loss if you placed an ante post bet that hasn’t worked out like you thought it would!
