Vegas Roulette
Roulette at William Hill Casino
Roulette is one of the classic casino games that you will find in any casino around the globe and its obviously a staple in every online casino that you can find. Roulette is actually a French word meaning “Little Wheel” and was invented by the world reknowned scientist Blaise Pascal who devised the game whilst trying to build a perpetual motion machine. I bet you didn’t know that!
The standard forms of roulette require you to place your wager on the outcome of a ball spinning on a roulette wheel. The wheel has 38 numbers (in European Roulette) or 39 numbers (in American roulette) and depending on the outcome you will either win a multiple of your winning wager or lose the round and your money.
At William Hill Vegas, they have 6 different types of roulette. Some are faithful to the original game and a couple are versions that can only be found in an online casino.
Roulette
Roulette is an incredibly popular game to play due in part to its simplicity. In this version of roulette you predict where a ball that is spun on the roulette wheel will land. You can place bets on specific numbers, or be more generic and predict whether the ball will land on an odd or even number, a specific number range or more. Obviously the more generic the bet , the lower it will pay as a multiple of your wager. You can place multiple bets on any spin so that you can cover off as many numbers or combinations as you wish.
The types of bets that you can place and their returns are as follows;

Lucky 8 Roulette
This variant of roulette uses a wheel and board that has 50 numbers on it as opposed to the traditional boards that have either 38 or 39 numbers. The positions on the wheel are number 0-49. There is also an additional number 8 on the board which is called the “Lucky 8” number. Landing on this will take you to a progressive jackpot game where you could win big!
You can place the same kind of bets that you can in normal games of roulette (as seen in “Roulette” above), however the multiplier payouts are different because of the increased number of possible outcomes due to their being more numbers. If the ball lands on the Lucky 8 section of the wheel then the Progressive Jackpot game will begin – you don’t have to have put a wager on the number for the jackpot round to begin.
On the screen above the number board where you place your bets are three additional wheels with the numbers 1-8 on them. These 3 wheels will automatically spin and if all three land on the number 8 then you will win the progressive jackpot.
2D Roulette
This version of online roulette is exactly the same as the classic game. The only difference is the screen format which shows the screen from above in 2D instead of the more traditional 3D view.
Slottolette
Slottolette is an interesting concept in that it combines two classic games into one format – the screen shows a traditional European Roulette wheel on the main body of the screen and also a single line, three reel Bar slot on the left hand side. You play the roulette in exactly the same way as you would normally, but you can also place bets on the slot machine too. If you do this then the online slot game will spin its reels whilst the ball in spinning on the roulette wheel. Two games in one – twice the fun!
Bagatelle
Bagatelle is a fixed odds casino game based on roulette but instead of using a wheel uses a bagatelle board to determine the outcome.
A bagatelle board has a series of pins fixed into it. When a ball is dropped into the top of the board these pins will deflect the direction of the ball, causing it to move randomly downwards until it reaches the bottom. Depending on where it lands will determine how much you win. You place your bets on a traditional European roulette board and then press “Start”. Instead of spinning a ball on the roulette wheel, the ball is dropped into the bagatelle board to determine the final outcome of the round.
Hexagon Roulette
This version of roulette is not played in traditional “Bricks and Mortar” casinos and is only available in online casinos like William Hill Vegas. Instead of taking place on a traditional roulette wheel and board, the numbers are instead laid out in a honeycomb patter. You bet in the usual way – select your chip value and then either click on specific numbers or combinations of touching numbers or bet on the predetermined outcomes on the left hand side of the board (Red/Black, Odds/Evens etc). When you are happy with your selections you start the game. No ball is rolled but instead a white light runs around the outside of the honeycomb and will stop on a number to determine the final outcome of the round.
